PREGNANT!

Oh, hey! Hi there. It's me again. I know its been awhile since you've heard from me and, surely, knowing the impact I have on your life, you've been sitting around wondering: Hey, what happened to that great food blog I used to read?! Why did she go AWOL and leave us hanging after Halloween? Was it something I said? Was it my lack of comments? Do I not eat enough leafy greens for her? WHY DOESN'T SHE LOVE ME ANYMORE?!

Well, dear friends, fear not! I have not abandoned my post here in the blogosphere for good, rather, I got pregnant (SQUEEK!) and all things food - planning for, shopping for, preparing, eating and ESPECIALLY blogging about, proved to be just a little too much for my gentle stomach in the first trimester. So, I dodged you all and made believe I had no blogging duties for a little while until I felt up to the task again.

Then, the guilt and general overwhelm of the whole thing got to me. How do I catch up after a 3 month hiatus? Will anyone want to sort through all those back posts? Surely no one wants to read about me eating crackers and sour patch kids for dinner AGAIN tonight. How can I make it seem like I didn't feed us all food from the freezer section at Target for dinner?

So, here we are.

I've decided that in order to capture SOME of the decent things we ate in the last three months but not put you through the torment of reading all my "oh God, I don't know what we ate, we just all lived until the end of the day" or "we had the spinach tart AGAIN because I had everything here and making it didn't make me gag" posts I would just consolidate the weekly posts into monthly ones and only include new recipes or outings. So, in the next week you can look for updates to the blog titled: November, December, and January ('cause I'm SO creative!)

From this point forward I hope to return to my weekly overviews, but you know, maybe this is the beginning of something new and life changing for us both. We all know we'll have the new baby and my sleep-deprived-survival-mode-mom-of-two brain to contend with here in a few short months.

Happy reading. Happy eating. And, thanks for sticking with me. To atone you for the long wait, here's a picture of our new little cutie. She's a healthy little one so far and due to come join us at the end of May. We are all thrilled to meet her (big brother especially) and now thanks to the energy and mobility of the second trimester we are busily planning and preparing for her arrival.
